node-K is officially founded, planning a Saturday cleanup at SUC, and ranking an old warehouse as their top future location.
1. Club Foundation & Administration
- Official Launch: node-K is officially founded, and all board members have been properly registered.
- Member Management: The team is utilizing Jonas’ membership tool to streamline onboarding. The goal is to look at other hackspaces for inspiration to build an all-in-one financial and member management platform.
- Weekly Meetings: Meetings will now be held every Tuesday evening to keep up momentum. A calendar will be added to the website.
2. Finances, Banking & Insurance
- Bank Account: Found it difficult to find a bank that accommodates clubs without high fees. Volksbank was chosen as the best option due to low costs and no transaction fees.
- Insurance: Estimated at an average of €6.
- Payment Systems: Discussed two main options for in-club payments (drinks, materials, etc.):
- SumUp: Low upfront hardware cost, but carries a 1.4% transaction fee.
- Club Credit: Users load a balance linked to their Authentik account. Legally, this layout is treated as a donation.
3. Location Scouting & Strategy

4. Technical Infrastructure
- Authentik: The Authentik structure will be slightly reworked to ensure a clean, optimized setup moving forward. The platform was presented to the team, received positive feedback, and will be adapted as new use cases pop up.
