Official opening at Makerspace Carinthia

The official opening celebration of node-K at Makerspace Carinthia brought together the community for a summer evening of barbecue, music, and a shared new start.

Last Friday evening, together with Startup-Carinthia, we officially opened our first headquarters at Makerspace Carinthia. It was a special moment for the whole community and a clear sign that node-K is now truly taking shape as a shared space for hackers, makers, and people who want to build things together.

Organised jointly, we will be sharing the workspace we have set up together in future. That collaboration is a strong foundation for everything we want to do next.

The new node-K sign, unveiled together with our partner Startup-Carinthia.

Following a brief address by our board members Felix Fox (Chair) and Jonas Schaltegger (Treasurer), as well as our space partner from Startup-Carinthia, Alexander Mann, we ceremoniously unveiled our association’s sign. It was a brilliant moment, especially as we managed to finish the sign just five minutes before the event. That is very much how hacking is done.

A warm evening with the community, partners, and friends of node-K.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who brought something to eat. Together with the drinks provided by Startup Carinthia and the barbecue food we organised, it really rounded off the barbecue and the meal we shared. The atmosphere was brilliant, complemented by perfect summer evening weather.

Throughout the evening, we were delighted to welcome more than 50 people from our own community and several other interested groups: from the Linux Stammtisch in Villach, the Realraum in Graz and a few others. We would like to thank each and every one of you for coming along, for your interest, and for your support.

It was a fantastic evening that will stay with us for a long time to come, and we are already looking forward to the next one. Until then, happy hacking!

A big thank you

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who helped make this event possible: to our hosts at Makerspace Carinthia, to Startup-Carinthia for their support, and to the whole community for showing up with energy, curiosity, and good spirit.

This is a strong start for node-K, and we are excited to continue building together in the space that now officially bears our name.
